“In the attached image you can see that I chose to do the work by drawing. I made a representation that includes graphs that answer to at least one or more questions on each of the 5 skins.
You can see how humans have robots, which will help them satisfy needs such as cleaning the home; furthermore, the humans of the future that I managed to imagine all have flying platforms to transport themselves, generating a relationship between humans and technology.
Regarding the area of clothing, I managed to imagine a change in clothing since in this future sizes will cease to exist and clothes will adapt to each person’s body.
If we talk about the topic of home and green spaces, I calculated that with flying cars and platforms that transport people through the air, all homes will float in the sky. They will be kept in the air thanks to solar energy and green hydrogen. Since everything will move through the air, I assumed that the buildings and different businesses must have their entrance on the terrace. I also added to all constructions something that is being implemented right now to maintain green spaces; green terraces.
When imagining the city and the community, I thought about advertising, different means of transportation, and economic exchanges. As is already happening today, I can imagine that both the transportation of money and the payment methods will be virtual. As for means of transportation and their energy, I imagined the same thing we all think about for the future, flying cars. I also thought about platforms that will transport people through the air; both cars and platforms will run on solar energy or green hydrogen.
As for advertising, I imagined that each building makes its own advertising; they can appear from time to time digitally on the building.
Finally, I wanted to tell you about my future thoughts on the relationship between people and nature. In addition to the different green spaces on terraces being preserved, there will be buildings in which different organizations are in charge of the conservation of natural species, where the plants will be cared for and, for example, a couple of each type of seed will be preserved.” Juan Pablo Asueta
This imagination is part of the pedagogical proposal of the Ecenarro Turrillo Chair, Introducción al Conocimiento Proyectual 1 (ICP 1), Ciclo Básico Común (CBC), Universidad de Buenos Aires UBA. It corresponds to the initial sketch exercise of the first semester of 2022, linked to the Program 2084 Imagined Futures from the South.
Students were invited to dream and develop utopias with the precept of traveling to the future, the year 2084, and propose imaginations/transformations, understanding that design and its project disciplines are tools to improve contemporary and everyday living, with a sustainable commitment.
The teaching team was composed by Graciela Ecenarro, Andrea Santangelo, Silvina de Gennaro, Juan I. Cabello, Florencia de la Quintana, Natalia Naredo, Luciana Quartaruolo, Santiago Ortí, Andrea López y Natalia Ardissone.
Clarification: given that some of the imaginations have been delivered without titles, from the editing area of 2084 Futures Imagined from the South, we decided to give them a title with the intention of matching them with others that do have, helping to distinguish them.
